BLOTTER PAPER CONFIRMED TO BE ETIZOLAM

Blotter tabs (small squares of paper) have been linked to a number of accidental drug poisonings as well as 2 deaths in the Halifax Regional Municipality. This substance was seized on June 16, 2021 and has been confirmed to be Etizolam (a benzodiazepine similar to valium). These blotters could be circulating throughout Nova Scotia and the other Atlantic provinces at this time. If possible, avoid ingesting these tabs or use with extreme caution. Using at an Overdose Prevention Site or with a friend that has Naloxone on hand can reduce the likelihood of a fatal drug poisoning.
